I have the PCP version and have been shooting it for a few days now. Love the added power but havent done a side by side on a large number of shots yet.

Hadn’t realized there were comments on the review.

Just as a follow up I took the gun off the rack after a year or more on the wall, screwed the scope (A daisy 3×9) that had been put on after I did the review. At 25 Yds or so needed 4 clicks to get it back on.

Ordered a PCP version from Compasseco so am looking forward to a side by side on accuracy and velocity.

Pretty much.. Only Crosman does not let me keep the products.. yet… I’m working on them. If the want me to keep reviewing their stuff, they’ll change their policies.

The 78 Deluxe is a totally different rifle and well worth the extra money. I had one for review but a friend of mine was over and would not leave without me selling it to him. I’m still waiting for the replacement from Compasseco. I miss that rifle.

i recently got the 78 deluxe and it does not have any of the problems you have with this one. and it is extremley accurate.

Nice review, Gerald. I assume your QB78 was in .177 caliber? It’s available in .177 and .22. Almost every owner review I’ve been able to find for this gun just raves about it.The solid steel receiver is a bonus over the Crosman 2260, although those guns too get very good reviews. You got some very nice groups there.I have a Crosman 1077 CO2 rifle, and it’s not known for great accuracy.I’m still experimenting with pellets.I had high hopes fpr the RWS Hobbys, but they just don’t group well in my gun.My gun likes Crosman Premier wadcutters,Gamo Match wadcutters,and very much likes the Gamo Masterpoints.
